RaícesTree is designed from the ground up to protect your family's privacy. Unlike other genealogy services, we don't store your family tree data on our servers. Your information stays in your browser's local storage on your own device.

2. What We Don't Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or have access to:

• Your family tree data (names, dates, relationships)
• Photos you add to family members
• Notes, documents, or personal information
• Your browsing history within the app

3. What We Do Collect

To provide our service and process payments, we collect minimal information:

• License Keys: When you purchase, we generate and store a license key linked to a device fingerprint (not personal information)
• Payment Information: Processed securely by Stripe or PayPal - we never see your card details
• Email (optional): Only if you contact support

4. Device Fingerprint

To tie licenses to devices (and prevent sharing), we create an anonymous device fingerprint using technical characteristics of your computer (screen resolution, timezone, platform). This cannot identify you personally and contains no personal information.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use minimal, essential cookies for:

• Remembering your language preference
• License validation

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand general usage patterns (page views, country-level location). We do not track individual users or behavior.

6. Data Export & Backup

You own your data completely. You can export your entire family tree at any time using our backup feature. Exported files stay on your device - they are never uploaded to our servers.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe & PayPal: Payment processing (their privacy policies apply)
• InMotion Hosting: Website hosting

8. Children's Privacy

RaícesTree does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is intended for adults researching their family history.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be announced on our website. Your continued use of RaícesTree constitutes acceptance of any changes.
